I had the pleasure of shooting a lovely family session at Higgins Beach in Scarborough, Maine. The mom reached out to me excited about capturing memories of her family. This beach had always been on my list, but the timing had never worked out. Tides can be tricky there, and I wanted everything to be just right.

This week, as it turned out, was perfect. We picked a night with soft, golden light, warm air, and a gentle breeze. The tide was low, making it easy to find great spots to shoot. The family of four was ready and filled with joy.

The mom had a clear vision. Her kids were growing up and starting their own lives. This phase of life can be bittersweet for parents. They had spent years vacationing together in Maine, and those memories were precious. With changes ahead and uncertainty about future gatherings, she wanted to capture this special time.

It’s important to remember that no one is too old for family photos. These images tell a story of love and connection. This family session was one of my favorites. It was a reminder of the joy of being together and the importance of holding onto those moments.
