This year, I was thrilled to add Riverwinds Farm in Saco, Maine to my list of weekday locations. It’s truly a hidden gem—tucked away among our well-known beaches, but offering something entirely its own. The owners and managers have been the kindest, most generous people, and the fact that this property is literally in my backyard still blows my mind.

Riverwinds has everything I love in a photo location: a glowing sunset that drops perfectly behind the back field, lush green lawns, a charming little pond, and wide-open space that feels both peaceful and full of possibility. It’s quickly become one of my favorite spots, and I’m even thinking about hosting minis here next year—so if you’re interested, reach out to be added to my email list!

And then came this family.

Their session was truly special. You could feel the love they had for one another from the moment they arrived—warm, easy, genuine. They instantly made me feel comfortable, and their kids were so much fun that I found myself happily photographing right up until we ran out of sunlight.

Honestly, my biggest “problem” from this evening was having way too many images to edit… which is the best kind of problem to have.

What made it even more meaningful was knowing these photos were a holiday gift for their parents. When they later told me that their mom cried happy tears seeing the images, it reminded me exactly why I do what I do.

Photography isn’t always easy—you can’t control the wind, the weather, or how the kids feel that day. But I know I’m good at what I do, and I love bringing joy into people’s lives. There is nothing better than knowing that families smile every time they walk past their walls.

That’s what keeps me showing up at 100% for every single session.

It’s truly an honor.
