Mother’s Day Petite Session

This Portland Maine Photographers is so excited for this years Motherhood Event Sessions. I chose a studio in the heart of Portland Maine. It is at a fantastic little studio called BABY BOOTY. It is a community for parents that fosters mental, emotional & physical strength through exercise, support, and socialization for parents & their babies/toddlers. After one visit I knew this was the spot. Fantastic light, excellent parking and even an elevator for moms with a lot of stuff. If you are an expecting mom or a new mom this is an excellent place for you to check out.

Recently I photographed a past client and her amazing little girls. I have been photographing this family since the oldest was still in mom’s belly. I love seeing them grow up and getting to do family sessions with them again and again. Nothing is more special to me than that.

My vision for these sessions started with an idea. I wanted to do a set of Petite sessions that focus on Mothers and the beautiful connection they have with their children. To me there is nothing much more precious to photograph and this incredible bond. This is what my company core value was built around. Connection. I want nothing more than to connect with mothers and show them how beautiful their real life really is.

After I had the concept of how I wanted the images to feel. I started to think about how I wanted it to look like. I designed and produced the backdrops and the floral arrangements myself. It was a true joy to spend my time painting this 9×12 canvas fabric knowing that it would be the backdrop for some absolutely breathtaking photographs. I focused on very spring colored florals. Making sure to add lots of cream and pinks with a splash of yellow. When it all came together it was prettier than it was in my visions.

“Nothing is more special to a mother than her children. I recently took my daughters to do a mother/daughter photo session with Carrie. My jaw dropped when I saw how much time she put into creating such a gorgeous set. She put together the most beautiful bouquets and painted the backdrop herself. The pictures we received were so beautifully and delicately done. I’m still not sure how she got these breathtaking photos with my kids running around and behaving like, well, kids. She remained calm through the whole shoot. She even got my kids laughing, Smiling and being still at times. It was a beautiful experience and I will cherish the photos forever.”
