There’s a quiet pressure that comes with newborn photography. This idea that if you don’t schedule your session within the first couple of weeks, you’ve somehow missed your chance.

I see it all the time.
And I want you to know… you haven’t missed anything.

This sweet family came into the studio in January with their baby boy at around two months old. A little beyond the traditional newborn window, and still, the session was everything you would hope for.

He was alert. Curious. Calm in that beautiful way babies are when they’re just beginning to take in the world around them.

And because of that, we captured something a little different.

Instead of only sleepy, curled up poses, we got connection. Eye contact. Little expressions that already feel like him. The way he looked at his parents. The way they looked at him.

It was soft, relaxed, and completely perfect.

While I do love photographing babies in those first few weeks, when they’re extra sleepy and snuggly, that season can also feel like a blur for parents. You’re recovering, adjusting, and simply trying to find your rhythm.

Sometimes, photos just aren’t the priority right away. And that is completely okay.

Because here is the truth

It is not about the exact timing.
It is about preserving the feeling of this season.

Whether your baby is two weeks, two months, or even a little older, they are still so little. Still changing by the day. Still in a chapter you will never get back.

And those moments deserve to be remembered.

If you have been holding off because you feel like you are too late, consider this your reminder. You are not.

The most important thing is simply showing up.
