Our First Christmas with Our 14-Month-Old

Films, Personal

Dec 21

back to blog

Hello, dear friends! I’m thrilled to share the video of our first Christmas with our 14-month-old. The 2019 holiday season was filled with snowflakes, Christmas lights, a Santa sighting, and the pure joy of experiencing the wonder through the eyes of our little one.

A Snowy Adventure:

Our winter tale begins with the first snowfall—a magical carpet of white that transformed our front yard into a winter wonderland. Watch as our little explorer enjoys his first steps in the snow and his very first sleigh ride.

Lights, Sights, and LL Bean Nights:

Our journey continued to LL Bean, where the lights sparkled in the crisp winter air. Join us as we stroll through the illuminated wonder, the beauty of the season reflected in the glow of a thousand lights.

Cutting Down our Christmas Tree:

It was such a fun experience to cut down our Christmas tree this year. Old Farm Christmas Place in Cape Elizabeth was an amazing experience. We had a fresh snow fall the night before. It was truly magical. Thank you to my mom for coming along.

Santa’s Visit to Cabelas:

Oh, the anticipation and excitement as we visited Cabelas to meet Santa! Little did we know, our little one would have a tearful encounter with the man in red. A mix of awe, curiosity, and perhaps a hint of uncertainty made for a memorable moment captured in our family film.

Boothbay Botanical Gardens and Christmas Lights:

The enchantment continued with a visit to the Boothbay Botanical Gardens, where twinkling Christmas lights adorned every corner. Walk with us through the illuminated paths, the colors and shapes dancing in the night.

Christmas Eve Magic:

Christmas Eve, a night filled with warmth and family. Join us in the cozy glow of home as we celebrate with loved ones. From opening presents to the joyous chaos of our child’s new toys, every moment is a treasure captured in our family film.

Making Memories with Cinnamon Rolls:

And what’s Christmas without the aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls? Join us in the kitchen as we create a delicious tradition, making memories as sweet as the rolls themselves. We did use a simple tube Cinnamon Roll. Typically I make them homemade but something had to give this year. Ooops

Our Family Film:

Now, for the main event—a family film capturing these moments of joy, laughter, and love. We invite you to experience the magic with us. This was the first film that I planned out different shots. I had a vision in my head to take this song by JJ Heller and put together all the major Holiday events into one musical video. I truly couldn’t have been more happy with how it turned out. Every year since it has been a video that we sit down and watch together as a family all while we sing the song.

Our first Christmas with our 14-month-old was full of magical moments, and we’re excited to share the threads of this story with you. May this blog post bring a sprinkle of holiday magic to your day.

Wishing you joy and wonder,
Carrie
